1/10 Scale Electric Rally/Touring Car:
Schumacher SST 99 Pro - K004D
|
One year after the release of the SST 98, in 1999, Schumacher introduced the SST 99 Pro. The only real difference between them, was the tuned top deck, providing a little more flexure along the chassis length and the shock mounts, updated on the front to a fixed shock angle position.
With its excellent ball differentials and dual belt drive configuration, the SST 99 pro was a match for any 1:10 electric on-road car in its day and was also quite cheap to maintain. Like its predecessors, the SST 99 was built around common gearbox and drive pulley parts, found not only on Schumacher touring cars, but on their highly successful Off-Road Cat 2000 derivatives.
To drive, once it was set-up correctly, the SST 99 was smooth under acceleration and provided stable handling on straights and corners. My only gripe was the weight distribution from side to side, but with a little effort this could be overcome with a few strategically positioned lead weights.
To race the Schumacher SST 99 Pro, you need to tweak and adjust all you can to give your car improved handling, stability and grip to ease around the curves and keep you on the track. One little setting change can transform your car into a world beater. Just follow our chart to attain the most favourable Set-up to suit your particular needs on any track.
