Team Associated RC12i - 4001 / 4002
|
Introduced by Team Associated in 1983, the FRP pan RC12i chassis was originally available in two kit options - # 4001 - with a "Solid Axle" or - # 4002 - with a "Ball Differential", both with the new "Front Shock Suspension" basic kit, and a full set of ball bearings, but without a bodyshell, radio system or electrical. The model went on to win a number of national championships and took the IFMAR World Championship in 1984.
At least two other RC12i kit versions were released, including: # 4018 - Front Shock Suspension Kit, 6-Cell, Complete. (This model number was later used for the RC12R5 Factory Team) and # 4020 - 6-Cell, Assembled, with pre-painted Lola bodyshell, without radio system. (This model number was later used for the RC12R5.2 Factory Team). RC12i Hot Trick parts were also available.
To race the Team Associated RC12i, you need to tweak and adjust all you can to give your car improved handling, stability and grip to ease around the curves and keep you on the track. One little setting change can transform your car into a world beater. Just follow our chart to attain the most favourable Set-up to suit your particular needs on any track.

Hints, Tips and Information
Choosing a Transmitter
When you first started in RC, you may have purchased a package that came with the car kit, motor, battery, charger, ESC and radio system complete. The transmitter was probably just a basic steer wheel, or stick type, with nothing more than forward, reverse, left, right and simple trim settings to centralise the servo and ESC. |
