1/10 Scale Electric Truck/Truggy:
Marui Mitsubishi Jeep
|
Introduced by Tokyo Marui circa 1986, the 2WD Mitsubishi Jeep, was their 9th RC model, and although advertised in a number of outlets, including their own catalogue, it was rumoured to have never been released. However, some RC websites are reporting pictures of this model "boxed" have been seen ... but I remain sceptical.
From the catalogue description, the model was based on a moulded plastic tub type chassis, with a gear type differential, with undamped coil spring suspension, fixed half-shafts and bushings.
The same chassis design was also used by Marui for the Super Wheelie Toyota Land Cruiser, Super Wheelie CJ-7 Golden Eagle, Big Bear, re-released CJ-7 Golden Eagle and re-released Toyota Land Cruiser.
To race the Marui Mitsubishi Jeep, you need to tweak and adjust all you can to give your car improved handling, stability and grip to ease around the curves and keep you on the track. One little setting change can transform your car into a world beater. Just follow our chart to attain the most favourable Set-up to suit your particular needs on any track.

Hints, Tips and Information
Emergency Plastic Part Repairs
It always happens when you least expect it. You are racing hard; and suddenly some idiot decides to side swipe you' and break your front wishbone. Even though you may carry spare parts for just about everything on your car, it always seems to be the same part that breaks, and although you made a mental note the last time it happened to get a replacement you soon realise those mental notes were not worth the paper they are written on.

Hints, Tips and Information How to Charge Rechargeable Batteries for Peak PerformanceNi-Cad (Nickel Cadmium) Batteries
1/ All Ni-Cad Batteries have to be Discharged soon after use. This is to avoid the dreaded "Memory" effect that on subsequent re-charges can cause a momentary drop in performance during a race. A simple discharger can be made from a car 12v bulb.
Ni-Mh (Nickel Metal Hydride) Batteries
1/ Never charge Ni-Mh batteries at a current higher than 4.5 amps. Although these batteries can give a higher voltage than Ni-Cad Batteries, they are much more sensitive and easy to damage if charged too quickly. |
