1/10 Scale Electric Rally/Touring Car:
HPI Cup Racer 1M - BMW 2002 - # 101559
|
Introduced by HPI (Hobby Products International) in 2013, the 4WD Cup Racer 1M touring car chassis kit, was infinately adjustable, and was available with a number of bodyshell options: # 100598 - DATSUN 510, # 101559 - BMW 2002, # 102075 - PORSCHE 911 CARRERA RSR 2.8. A Cup Racer 1M Drift kit was also available - # 100599 - TOYOTA LEVIN AE86.
The Cup Racer 1M - True Ten Scale Touring Car chassis (is not quite a 1/10 Scale, and not a 1/12 Scale either, but for simplicity I have listed it as a 1/10), was designed so the front dampers could be set in the more conventional upright position, or a laydown configuration for low-profile bodyshells. The unassembled kit, came with a clear lexan bodyshell, requiring electrics and radio system. A number of other bodyshell options were available (Check out our HPI Archive).
The 4WD HPI Racing model is shaft driven, on a double deck chassis, with adjustable wheelbase, front gear type differential, with rear ball differential, coil spring over oil filled dampers, universal joint drive-shafts and a full set of ball bearings.
To race the HPI Cup Racer 1M, it calls for fine tuning to attain better steering response and improve grip when cornering so you don't slide off the side of the track. Minute changes can make huge advancements. Our easy to understand list will show you how and lead you to the optimum Set-up to put you in front of the rest on the track.

Hints, Tips and Information
Rubber Tires for RC Models
Rubber Tires ALWAYS should have either soft sponge or rubber inserts. They will not function as they should without them. And if you are totally serious about your racing they should be glued to the rims. How to Mount Rubber Tires onto Wheels/Rims.
Before mounting your Tires, I would recommend talking to the more experienced racers at your local club, concerning what inserts they use. Even the top level racers rely on a bit of local knowledge on tracks they have never raced before. |
